Just a few quick updates:
- Even though we did our fingerprinting the day the letter arrived (3 weeks ago), we still have not received approval from the state department. How long is that supposed to take, anyway?
- We are "in the running", so to speak, for the little boy in the WCP. We had to fill out several questionnaires about having a child of color, racism, potential problems that may come with an adopted child and how we would deal with them, etc. I heard from the WCP employee that the earliest we will go to committee is the middle of this month. Just as a reminder to anyone who may be getting their hopes up, we have heard that it is very unlikely to be chosen for your first WCP child, because there are often other families that also are being considered for the child. In this boy's case, there are several others.
- We received a donation of $600! That is so awesome! THANK YOU to that giver, and to the several others who've given what they could. EVERY donation is precious to us because EVERY donation helps us out so much. We have also sold nearly all the furniture from our garage sale on Craig's List, bringing our total donations + fundraisers to more than $1,500! That is nearly 25% of our expenses so far!
- My trip to California was great. We did a lot of things, walked 500 miles (OK, so, more like 22+), and I missed Isaac like crazy.
